Shortly before 9:30 pm on Thursday, February 20, a head-on crash occurred at North Betty Lane and Springdale Street in Clearwater, Florida. Crews from Clearwater Fire & Rescue and Clearwater Police are currently investigating. Source.
One of the vehicles involved was heavily damaged. Crews had to work for approximately 40 minutes to get one of the two occupants out of this vehicle. A second passenger from that vehicle was transported as a trauma alert to Bayfront Health.
The driver of the second vehicle involved fled the scene following the crash. Authorities are still searching for this driver.
