
On Tuesday, September 8, at around 5:00 am, three people were killed in a crash after a driver ran a red light in Westchase. Source.
According to the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Office, the crash occurred at the intersection of Sheldon Road and Linebaugh Avenue. A 2020 Chevy Malibu was heading north on Sheldon, ran a red light, and was hit by a 2017 Nissan Altima on the rear passenger side heading East on Linebaugh Avenue.
The Malibu struck a utility pole after losing control, and three people were thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. The Altima driver was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries.
As this is an active investigation, the names of those involved in the crash have not been released.
