Man Killed in Crash

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, a Florida man was killed in a crash involving a semi-trailer on State Road 674. He was driving east when his sedan crossed the center line of the road and collided head-on with a semi-trailer heading west. The driver of a semi-trailer was not injured. Source.

Accidents involving commercial trucks and vehicles tend to be much more dangerous than those involving two personal-use vehicles. This is because commercial vehicles are not only larger and heavier than personal vehicles, but they can also be carrying dangerous freight, making the results of crashes catastrophic. Additionally, unlike personal vehicles, when a crash involves a commercial vehicle there is typically a large company or corporation backing the vehicle, complicating the legal ramifications.
