A pedestrian was killed after being hit by at least one driver on Morris Bridge Road. According to investigators, the make and model of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian are unknown, as the driver left the scene of the crash. A second vehicle described as “possibly gray or silver in color” may have also hit the pedestrian a second time, but also drove away from the scene. The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash. On Monday, June 27, 2022, a driver saw the pedestrian’s body on the roadway and called 911. It is unclear how long the victim was on the roadway before first responders arrived.
Accidents like this one are truly tragic, and matters are further complicated when the drivers flee the scene of the crash. Drivers who decide to leave the scene of a crash are committing a felony offense, especially when that crash results in injury or death.
