Man Killed in New Port Richey Crash

On Saturday, November 9, at approximately 8:20 pm in New Port Richey, a multi-vehicle crash occurred. One man involved in the crash was killed. Florida Highway Patrol identified the man who died as 72 year old Phillip Viola. Source.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, Viola was killed after a speeding vehicle crashed into his car. Viola was making a left turn into the entrance of Regency Square from the northbound left turn lane of Little Road in New Port Richey. While he was turning, a speeding driver headed southbound on Little Road crashed into the passenger side of Viola’s car.

Viola had a passenger in his vehicle at the time of the crash. This passenger, a 20 year old New Port Richey man, sustained serious injuries in the crash.

Viola was transported to the hospital after the crash, where he later died.
