Motorcyclist Dead After Being Cut Off By Driver

On Monday, November 4, at approximately 1:33 pm, a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Dale Mabry Highway. Source.

Eric Diaz, 31, of Tampa, was traveling southbound on Dale Mabry Highway on a 2018 Suzuki motorcycle when he was hit by a 2013 Toyota Rav4. The driver of the Toyota, Caridad Lopez, 78, was traveling eastbound out of a driveway at 7814 Dale Mabry Highway. Lopez turned left into the path of the motorcycle, causing the collision, according to Florida Highway Patrol Troopers.

Diaz was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but died at the scene.

Lopez and her passenger only experienced minor injuries. The investigation is ongoing and charges are currently listed as pending.
