
On Monday night, a stolen vehicle crashed into a police car at the intersection of 18th Ave. South and 7th St. South in St. Petersburg. The sergeant that was hit was traveling eastbound on 18th Ave. South when the stolen vehicle, a blue Toyota Camry, ran the stop sign on 7th St. South and collided with the officer’s vehicle. Source.
The Toyota Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed and was being driven by a 15-year-old boy. There were also three passengers riding in the stolen vehicle. The driver was arrested on outstanding warrants and he now has pending charges against him as a result of the crash. The sergeant and the three passengers of the Toyota Camry were taken to the hospital, treated, and released with minor injuries overnight.
