Florida is the most dangerous state for pedestrian accidents, with South Florida specifically being the most dangerous. Between 2010 and 2019, there were 1,675 pedestrian deaths in South Florida alone. That means that for every 100,000 residents, there were 2.8 pedestrian deaths.
If you or someone you know has been struck by a vehicle, it is important that you remain calm and, if possible, move out of the street. If you can, try to ensure the driver who hit you does not leave the scene and take any photos to gather evidence for your case. Be sure to seek medical attention after your accident, even if you do not immediately feel like you sustained any injuries.
