Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Frontage Road in Largo

On Friday, August 23 at approximately 8:44 pm a pedestrian was killed in a crash in Largo. The Largo Police Department is still investigating the crash. First responders were dispatched to southbound Frontage Rd. south of East Bay Dr. in reference to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. According to investigators, the pedestrian entered the roadway from the low light, grassy median. The motorist was beginning to enter the ramp onto southbound US-19 N and did not see the pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle had the right of way. Source.

When the vehicle struck the pedestrian, the pedestrian suffered serious bodily injury which resulted in them being ground transported to the Largo Medical Center. The adult male pedestrian died at the hospital.

The driver was released from the scene. Police say that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
