This accident is a tragedy, and for those who have lived in the Pinellas area long enough, it is known that these accidents happen far too often. To prevent crashes like this, bicyclists should remember to ride in the same direction as traffic while staying as far to the right as possible and use bike lanes whenever possible. Additionally, bicyclists should obey all traffic laws, including stop signs, traffic signals, and lane markings, when riding in the street.
