
A 32-year-old Tampa man was hit by a semitrailer on Wednesday morning at approximately 3:11 am. The accident took place on Causway Boulevard in Hillsborough County. The man who was hit is in critical condition. Source.
Thomas Paul Koeninger, 57, of Fort Myers, was traveling east on Causway Boulevard near Windemere Oaks Lane. He was driving a 2014 semitrailer, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
A pedestrian crossed the path of Koeninger’s semitrailer walking south across Causeway Boulevard, crossing the path of the truck. The semitrailer then collided with the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was transported to Tampa General Hospital with critical injuries. His name has not been released.
